That is exactly what Rich and Ewa experienced. They arrived in Andalusia, picked up their Triumph Tigers and started riding. No paperwork, no improvisation, no logistical stress. Just tarmac, scenery and the best roads in southern Spain.
Day 1 — Granada and Sierra Nevada
The first stage started in Granada. With the GPS already programmed, Rich and Ewa headed towards Sierra Nevada with no guide, no group — pure freedom on Andalusian tarmac. The mountain roads of Sierra Nevada on a motorcycle are an experience that stays with you.

October to May is the optimal riding season in Andalusia. Temperatures average 15–22°C, roads are clear, and the landscape is at its best. July and August can exceed 40°C inland — rideable but uncomfortable in full gear. The spring window (March–May) adds wildflowers across the sierras; autumn (October–November) offers exceptional light and emptier roads.
Do I need my own motorcycle for a self-guided tour in Andalusia?
No. Triumph Adventure Spain provides the motorcycle as part of the self-guided tour package. The A-397 between San Pedro de Alcántara and Ronda (365 corners, 30km) is the most famous. The CA-9104 through the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park is technically demanding and visually spectacular. The A-395 into Sierra Nevada reaches the highest paved road in Europe at 2,500m. The desert roads around Tabernas in Almería offer a completely different riding experience — flat, fast, and otherworldly.
