Stories from our riders: Lee’s book

When something happens in your life that completely changes the way you see it.

Stories from our riders

All the clients who come on our tours leave a little piece of themselves in our offices, but only a few have managed to make us completely change the way we experience life.

That was the case with Lee.

Lee came into our lives with a group traveling to the Pyrenees, in one of the Off-Road editions we launched some time ago. He was accompanied by a friend, both radiating a kind of charisma you can sense from afar, bonding with everyone in the group—and the team members were no exception.

Although people who join our tours are usually very kind, sometimes we come across individuals who stand out—those who give their all at every moment, who enjoy and appreciate every detail, and whose attitude toward adventure leaves no one indifferent.

Life’s twists and turns

During the tour days, it’s normal for clients to build strong connections, as it’s a very social activity where people spend a lot of time together during meals, breaks, and more.

That’s when the question came up, and during one of the dinners I dared to ask: how do you manage to radiate so much happiness and energy all the time?

Lee had a clear answer. He told us how, sometimes, life doesn’t give you the easiest circumstances, and when you have to face situations you never imagined with people you love, the problems that once had the power to ruin your day begin to lose their importance.

From that moment on, he realized that you can’t control or choose the bad things that happen to you—but you can control your attitude toward them, and learn to truly value the chance to enjoy activities, experiences, and people more than ever before.

No one added anything else—perhaps because it made all of us reflect.

In any case, his words resonated with the group, and his energy spread, creating a unique atmosphere of positivity that brought us all together for the rest of the journey.

Returning to where you’re happy

It was clear that his warmth made both our instructors and office team become friends with Lee, but we never imagined he would join us on so many adventures.

The Off-Road experience didn’t stop in the Pyrenees—he also joined our Portugal tour, the Translusitania Off-Road Tour, the On-Road trip to Morocco, and one of our Andalusia tours—becoming one of the clients who has traveled with us the most.

When someone repeats a tour or builds such a close relationship with the team, we usually ask them for a video review for our social media—and Lee’s has earned a place among our favorites.

Because, as he said, life is like a book you choose to read or write. Most of us have read enough to, when the time comes, start writing our own—and Triumph Adventure Experience is the place where you can write that book.

Receiving more than you give

Today, Lee is not the only client who has given us far more than what we have taught him during our tours and Off-Road masterclasses. Although he is today’s example, we learn something new every day from each person who shares these experiences with us—and that is already more rewarding than any sold-out tour.
