I'd been wanting to sign up for an experience like the one offered by Triumph Adventure Experience Spain's Rewards of Morocco for a while. This year, I finally convinced a couple of friends, and we made the leap from the Canary Islands to Málaga to join the expedition through Morocco.
From the very beginning, we received personalized advice, especially from Marta, who answered all our questions as the date approached.
Once at the Málaga facilities, they showed us the bikes (brand-new Triumph Tiger 1200 and 900 Rally Pro) and gave us a briefing to make sure we were clear on the route, the paperwork, and everything else we'd need to do at the border.
The next day, we met early in the morning to set off, accompanied by the support van, towards Tarifa, where we would cross the Strait of Gibraltar towards Tangier. In the van, Christian had a spare motorcycle, tires, and our luggage, which he arranged to be delivered to the hotels so that when we arrived, we only had to go to our rooms. A real luxury.
The one-week route took us from Tangier to Chefchaouen, the blue city, on the first day. The second day to Fes. The following day to Erfoud, to the famous Xaluca Hotel. From there, we headed to the Merzouga Desert, to Ali the Lame's camp, but first, we stopped at the Portuguese prison, where we had our first off-road experience with excellent guidance from Alain, Roberto, and the truly exceptional Bert. An unforgettable experience. That afternoon, they also offered us a spectacular 4x4 dune surfing tour. The next destination was the breathtaking Dades Gorges. The return journey began with an overnight stay in Marrakech, after crossing the exhilarating Atlas Mountains. From there, we continued to Casablanca, and the following day we headed back to Tangier to catch the ferry back to Spain.
Without a doubt, it's an experience I would repeat with a few tweaks, and if the rumors are true, there will be some! 😆
I'm also left with the memory of a fantastic group who made this adventure an unforgettable week. Thank you all, especially the wonderful team at Triumph Adventure Experience Spain!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
